DESCRIPTION:Join Present Tense artists, community partner organization
 s and exhibition curators for a casual and lively discussion about the
  goals, inspirations and challenges of the nine Chinatown storefront i
 nstallations that are part of the exhibition. Among other topics, we w
 ill discuss the relationship between contemporary art, community build
 ing, and public space as a venue for the arts; the impact on artists, 
 the community audience; and how exhibitions like Present Tense can bri
 ng new and provocative energy into the public scene. We invite artists
  and non-artists alike to participate the discussion in hopes of gaugi
 ng community response to the Present Tense public art installations, a
 s well as elaborating on the relationship between art, community enric
 hment and economic development.\n\nA panel discussion with Present Ten
 se artists Julie Chang, Justin Hoover, Ken Lo and representatives from
  the Chinatown Community Development Corporation and the Mayor’s Off
