Talking with friends the other day about how we first came across some of our favorite sites and it got me wondering about Metblogs readers, how the heck did you find this joint?
A friend of mine used to write for the Orlando MB and he recruited me to write for it since I was doing guidebooks for Frommer's and such. Been with Metblogs ever since. :)
I found DC Metblogs 2 years ago when I was living there and looking up some local fun stuff. I left a comment, and next thing I know, I was being invited to their bbq and to join the team. But alas, I moved to CA before I could write with them. Now I'm part of the L.A. team of writers! They're a zany bunch too, but so far no bbq's.
When I moved to San Francisco about a year ago, I didn't know anything about anything, so I googled 'San Francisco blog' among other search terms. SF Metblog came up, and I saw that Violet Blue had been a contributor at one point, so I added it to my feeds. Then Richard posted a call for new writers and I applied. It's been fun!
