Shirley and I visited the new visitor center at the San Elijo Lagoon near San Diego yesterday. It's quite a interest building; many "green" features, it was constructed out of recycled materials and sports solar panels and the use of reclaimed water for flushing commodes! It's open daily from 0900-1700. http://www.sanelijo.org/naturecenter.html

Hey San Diego! We're getting there... Two quick things:

In my comment below I noted that people needed to create accounts AND post a comment on an active city for their accounts to be fully active and it looks like some folks haven't done that. These are the accounts that were sent to Peggy that are not showing up in our system (meaning they weren't activated).

Please make sure those accounts are active and that the correct e-mail address has been sent to Peggy.

Everyone else you are all set up and good to go. We have a few more things to finish on this end before it can be public, and we like to have at least 2-3 posts from each author on the site before we announce it so that people can see something when they go there. So those of you with active accounts should go log in to my.metblogs.com and make a few posts over the next few days. Also check out the author forums while you are there (you'll need to login to those again, but it's the same account info).

The one BIG GIANT thing to remember with posts - you can write about anything you want as long as it relates to San Diego. That's crucial, please make sure there is a local tie in. More soon!!
