I frequently fly through San Jose on my way to LA, but this October I'm going to actually visit San Jose for the first time, spending a Saturday and Sunday there before heading up to San Francisco for a few days and then returning to San Jose mid-week before heading back home (Seattle). Saturday night I'll be going to a Sharks game, but I'll have plenty of day time to explore. San Jose looks very interesting from the air but I really don't know much about your city at all--I would love to get some tips on places to explore. I'm not really interested in visiting that creepy house, but I'm open to any other ideas. Urban photography is a huge interest of mine and I always enjoy seeing the places that people who live in a city actually use, not just the tourist sites.

If anyone has tips or suggestions for me, I'd really appreciate it. Since I don't drive, I'm confined to places I can get to on public transportation. Thanks!!

Well since you only have a few days, I'd say walk around downtown in the evening and check out San Pedro Square. Hit up Japantown for some sushi. And when you go to the Sharks game, you can always attempt to go to Poor House Bistro (may be crowded before a game..) Hmm.. If you want to do some shopping, check out Santana Row.

Hi Zee,
I second everything Jennifer says. Downtown is walkable from the Shark Tank and has tons of restaurants and shops. Also check out some events calendars for the weekend you're up here:

Hope that helps!
