I belong to about 5 Ning networks, and only one really nails a niche that keeps me coming back. I have high hopes that this could be developed into something that readers will want to interact with... What are some plans for this Ning site?

We haven't launched it super publicly yet but we're hoping that when we do it'll give the readers a place to interact more with the authors and more importantly with each other. I'll give a bit more functionality and leeway for the authors as well when suggesting things the readers can participate in and give people a place to host all kinds of local media. We'll kind of just have to see how it plays out exactly but we're pretty excited.

Me too. Twittermoms.com (just like it sounds), graphtech.me (site for guitarists using Graph Tech accessories).

I'm in San Diego and am incoming chair of the San Diego North EDC and cochair of Leadership North County Alumni Group, so I'm looking for a site and network that brings civic-minded bloggers together. Hope San Diego will get a group off the ground.
