A few people spoke up and said that the "first person to submit all the pics wins" wasn't the best way to do it, and suggested a timed method where everyone has until a set time on a set day to post their submissions and then we pick the winner from those. What do you all think of that?

in a way, this makes sense. i imagine someone from, say, australia, probably didn't even get a chance to read the instructions and items for the first hunt yet when the race was already over. therefore "first submission" system put anyone not in the right timezone with an immediate disadvantage.

I like the idea of submission time. If that was done it might be a good idea to make a couple of the items a little tougher or be judged on creativity.

OK so we tried the timed version for round two, we gave four days for the round, and said whoever got the most of the 15 photos we asked for would win. We figured this would be a good amount of time for people to go out and find some of the stuff. Unfortunately not a single person submitted not a single photo. Many people told us they saw the list of photos, and either decided there was no way they could get them all, or saw the deadline and thought they'd go back and do them later and then forgot. Of course if one person had submitted one photo they would have won that round.

Anyway, it's safe to say that the timed version is a flop and we're going to go back to the race for round 003. That seemed to get people excited and was fun, where as the timed version generated a collective 'Meh.' Stay tuned.
