Round 002
OK folks! Round 002 is go! Here's what we you need to collect photos of this time around:
1. A car with a flat tire.
2. Cats and dogs, living together.
3. Discarded electronics.
4. Urban decay.
5. A street vendor.
6. A business that is open 24 hours.
7. Someone working at a coffee shop.
8. Recycling in practice.
9. People riding bikes.
10. A neighborhood bar.
11. A Starbucks.
12. Someone playing a musical instrument in public.
13. Poverty and excess on display, next to each other.
14. Someone bagging groceries.
15. Law enforcement giving someone a citation.
DEADLINE:
5PM PST - Tuesday, August 19th
THE RULES!
These have changed a little, so read up:
- Photos must be taken by you, and must include some note or sign or something that says "Metblogs" so we know you took it for this specifically, no photoshoppery.
- Rather than first one to complete wins like last time, this time the winner will be the person who gets the most of these shots by the deadline. In the event of a tie (several people who get them all, or who all get 14 of the 15) we will judge based on creativity and pick a single winner.
- Submissions with photos must be posted here in this thread.
THE PRIZE! This round's winner will get this:
1GB iPod Shuffle.

Hey! I feel like being up for it... but it's a bit unfair, given that I live in LHR. *whine whine*
It will be much, much harder for me to find, say 'someone practicing recylcing'. I can take my guitar to a street with a friend to take a pic of me ... or take my own pic while playing a guitar somewhere along MMAlam Rd perhaps! But I don't even know where to go to recycle stuff... we don't recycle stuff, you know. We may reuse it; maybe I can take a pic of my second-hand car? Haan? :)
Mmm, about citation, well, I may just talk on my phone, while sitting in a car, making sure one of the many cops on our streets sees me, and as he walks over to slap a fine on me for the billionth time, I can say 'cheeese'. He may ask, 'what cheese?' (cheese is Urdu for, literally, 'thing'. Cheese in Urdu is called 'paneer', by the way!). This is an interesting 'task', must say.
Given that I don't have an iPod shuffle - heck, I don't have any variation of anything starting with an 'i' - I might give it a go.
But it will be interesting to see the results of all'o'this.

OK, so... No winner this round. No submissions even. WTF? Well, we heard from a few people that the above list was too daunting and they thought they could never get them all so didn't even try. Unfortunately that wasn't the point, with the change of "race" to "deadline" we also change the rule about the photos, as you might see above, we said:
"the winner will be the person who gets the most of these shots by the deadline."
So if anyone had submitted a single image they would have won. I guess that was just too many changes too quickly. For the next round we're going to go back to the race method for a while, and just start at different times to benefit different people around the world. Stay tuned for round 003 soonish...
